OCC-Holy Spirit-His Personal Actions I

The Holy Spirit..a gift to you…straight from God the Father, made possible through Jesus Christ. An AMAZING gift!  

I Corinthians 2:12

We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

When I receive a gift, I explore it! I want to know everything about it, and how it applies to me. SO while studying, the application to self is huge. And not only for me, but for every believer.

I Corinthians 2:10-11

but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

The Holy Spirit searches and knows the deep things of God! HE knows HIS thoughts! try wrapping your mind around that for a while. HE lives in you…

Romans 8:26-27

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.

God knows the mind of the Spirit as well as the Spirit knowing HIS..and the Spirit prays/intercedes for us! This is something to do the a happy dance about!  SO many times in weakness, and in walking through the fire, we just don’t know how to pray, and we lay it at HIS feet, and the Spirit of God already knows the plan and is interceding for all that is necessary to complete the plan, and bring us to the exact place that God has already planned for us.

This is just another taste of what I have been working on as I press on to fulfill my calling, learning more about the gift that GOD has given us to insure we are overcomers.  Ultimatly, its your choice to follow the Spirit or grieve HIM.  But the Gift remains..

OurCC-Holy Spirit Study

Through studying the last couple of weeks, I have been sitting on some scriptures that show the Holy Spirit’s attributes.

Omnipresent– Psalm 139:7–10 (NIV)-Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I go from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths you are there.  If I rise up on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the mans spirit with in him?  In the same way  no one knows the thoughts of God except for the Spirit of God.   

Omnipotent– Luke 1:35-37 (NIV)-The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called  the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God.”

Holy-Romans 1:4 (NIV)-and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

Eternal-Hebrews 9:8(NIV)-The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing. (read Hebrews 9:1-8)

I know that we all know these things of GOD, and we all know that HE is the THREE IN ONE, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but I am setting out to show with scripture that we have been sealed with the very Spirit of God..and that voice calling from within is all God and all Spirit..HE has every right to speak to us in whatever area of our life HE wants to move in, and yet we do not grasp HIM as GOD or the gift that HE is to us. How can I say that??  So often we sense the Spirit telling us NO , don’t do it..and we decide at that moment, we do not know if we know the voice of God, or have ever heard it..sooo we would rather do exactly what HE just said no too.  When thinking about who HE is, and What HE is capable of, and where HE lives…OH MY! Seriously!! How different will today be just knowing that HE is there, how different will my choices be just knowing HE is all knowing, How different will I choose to use my body knowing that the HOLY ONE is dwelling in it.  ahhhhh love this study, and believe it is time for us to know the third one of the Trinity, who is a precious gift to us, to enable us to be Overcomers.  Peace, next week I plan on setting up some more verses on the actions HE was sent to do, and whether or not we are allowing HIM.

Our Creative Community

I am blessed to be part of this community. I need to be held accountable, and to see that being held accountable does not mean that every time I don’t quite make it to my goal for the week, I am not hit with a hammer! YAY! Instead they encourage me to continue on and try again.  Can you see a picture of Christ in that?  I can. And it has touched my heart and spurred me on like no other!

As I continue to look into my study on the Holy Spirit, HE has confronted me.  When I first came to Christ, my world turned upside down, and nothing seemed familiar, and struggles that had not existed before were relevant in my life.  Some how that has all evened out and a bit of complacency has taken root.  So while reading and asking the LORD to help me know this Spirit that lives in me, I am confronted again with a world upside down, and struggles that are relevant in my life.

SInce the Spirit is here to comfort me (just one instance), and I am without comfort, than I am not allowing HIM to do HIS job.  Not HIM, me!  If I am confused, and do not know which end is up, then I am not allowing HIM to direct me.  When I am fearful of what is going on around me, or in how someone mistreats me, I am not believing in HIS strength that lives in me.  

A bit uncomfortable is truth. But so glad to be on this road, knowing HIM more and loving HIM more.  I am thanking God for “Our Creative Community” as HE is using it to bring me closer to HIM, and to hear HIS voice more clearly.
