Seize the Day

Its not enough to just walk through the day and to just think at its end, “that’s it! nothing more!”  We tend to forget to seize the day! Be intentional..Looking for what God is doing around us, and anticipating that one person HE may put in your path who is ready to know HIM.  When we do this, we are never disappointed, and not at all weary at the end of the day.  Kingdom living, be intentional, spend time with HIM, and keep the conversation open all day long. Seizing that moment when someone just looks at you and needs a smile, or “hey how you doing?” then wait for them to respond, not walk on by.

I know our schedules are crazy at times, but we serve a GOD who doesn’t run out of time, and when I actually do these things, my day comes together in a supernatural way. One more thing for me to stand of awe about at the end of the day.

Go on now! get out there and just ask someone “Do you know my Jesus?”

Blogged Bible Study-Galatians 4-Grasp the Grace

Galatians 4:1-7 (NIV)

What I am saying is that is as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from the slave, although he owns the whole estate.  He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. But when the time had fully come, GOD sent his Son, born of a woman, under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive the full rights of sons, God sent the Spirit of HIS son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father”. So you are no longer a slave, but a son, God has made you an heir.

This is the beauty of Grace.  Once asking a Pastor what exactly is Grace, we sing about it, we throw it around like a 5 dollar word in Christian circles, and at that time I had no concept of what it actually was.  I was answered with “God’s riches at Christs expense”. Sums it up..still left me empty to the meaning, or application for me.  These verses opened it up for me.  Grace we are swimming in it!! Not only is HIS Grace sufficient for me, and you, there is nothing that will remove you from it as a believer in Christ.  As a son we are inheritors to the Kingdom, we are IN, and all because of the gift of Christ to die for us.

The mind of Christ. Always asked this one too..How can one have the mind of Christ? No one could actually answer that for me, or even admit that we do. But it says..the Spirit of Christ has moved into residency in our hearts! (Swimming in it! grasp this)  His Spirit intercedes for us, HE cries out “Abba , Father”  (Daddy , Father) Where we fall is here.  NO matter what you struggle with, NO matter what I struggle with..right here.  At times we are thinking as the slave, under the Law, forgetting the marvelous gift of Grace that was given to us. Please don’t tell me that you do not ever do this. If we truly grasped this, nothing could stop us in ministry, in our families, in our devotional time, in spreading the fragrance of Knowing HIM, our boldness for the kingdom with just scream from us!! It is not a light thing that HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR US! It means whatever is brought your way, God has already seen HIS Glory fulfilled in it, and you will also see HIS Glory if you don’t turn from HIM.  SWIMMING IN IT! THIS IS SOMETHING TO w00t!!! Holla!!! all about!!!

(in the middle column you will find a list of names and days that they will posting as we study together through Galatians. Under the header of “Carls Blogging Bible Study, check them out, and leave some comment luv)

DO SOMETHING-get out of the comfort zone

Been paying attention to what gets response on my Facebook. I have mixed group on my facebook. Christ followers, friends I grew up with, relatives, and co-workers, Christfollowers make up 70 % of my friends list.

This weekend  I finally grasped something that has been bothering me for a while.  As Christfollowers, we are quick to disregard things that are not comfortable, things that are not complementing to ourself, and overall would cause us to maybe do something.  Sorry in advance if this is stepping on your toes..well no apology is necessary.

So many children around the world need our help in one way or another.  I support a child in India through Compassion, for the last 6 years.  Love him!  There are many groups that can be helpful in directing you in how to help a child in need.  Christian Organizations.  But the one that has my heart, is Invisible Children of Uganda.  Its not Christian Organization, although Christians started it.  Its more of a Humanitarian effort.  Together we can make a difference in this country, and for these children.  I am asking you to come out of your comfort zone, and just watch any of the videos on their website.  Write a letter to your congressman, send out an email to entire list to raise awareness…DO SOMETHING..together we can help these children.

I hear so many people say “I am following Jesus”..I think Uganda and the Invisible Children are exactly where HE would be…Jesus loves the children of the world..and what we have done or not done for the least of these we have done to HIM… Please just hear these people out, and pray about how you can help them.

Blogged Bible Study – Galatians 2

Reading this chapter, fresh was the way to do it this time for me.  I have read it many times and heard different leaders speak on it, and still something bothered me about it.  The LORD is good to shine new lights, and HE knows how my brain works!  In the past I have watched people take this book and bash Peter, and do it by saying they are following Pauls example. (Remember, Paul heard, then he saw, then he confronted – this is not how I see many confrontations taking place.) The problem I have with that is God also had Peter write two books of the Bible and I can’t excuse them as its a whole book from cover to cover.  SO my question to my self before GOD was, “what am I supposed to make of this?” and “doesn’t there have to be more to this than just confrontation?”  Here is what I came up with…

It does not matter how much you love Jesus, or how very much you are setting out to serve HIM, there will always be something there that will cause you to think “well maybe this will apply as well”.  I see Peter that way, and he fell to Legalism, as do many many well meaning Christ Followers.  Then I look at Paul, and it was right for him to call Peter on it.  This particular chapter is not just about “False Teachers” as whole.  This chapter is following up the verse in chapter one that I started this study with.

Gal. 1:4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of God our Father…

Gal. 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I know longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of GOD, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Do you see the theme? Jesus death on the cross was enough! Its finished, HIS words not mine.

This chapter is about knowing your freedom in Christ, and what the blood of Jesus has done for each of us, and allow no man to alter that in the slightest way, the result in this instance was bondage to Legalism. (Which in my opinion, is the strongest bondage in the Body of Christ today! point fingers at someone else, judge unjustly, tell someone how to dress for church, anything that adds to the Gospel message for human gain..Legalistic!)

Once you are bound by something, it seems to be easier to fall to anything.

What do you believe? Does your belief system work for you?  In this chapter I see two loved very much by Christ, both serving HIM, and a confrontation needed to help one out of the bondage that has started to consume him.  Can you relate to thinking you are on the right track, only to find later deception was trying to tie you down?  It happens, pray that it does not happen to you?  I am praying for the same thing for myself.  Let’s not bash Peter, and let’s not put Paul on a pedestal.  But look at the application, we will soon enough be on both sides of it in some point in our life.

Mercy Said NO!

WHen things look the darkest, and things seem hopeless…this song always reminds me of the love and mercy of Christ… and how HIS mercy said NO.

Mercy Said NO -CeCe Winans

I was just a child, when I felt the Savior leading
I was drawn to what I could not understand
And for the cause of Christ, I have spent my days believing
That what He have me be, is who I am
As I’ve come to see the weaker side of me
I realize His grace is what I need
When sin demanded justice for my soul

(Chorus)
Mercy said no
I’m not going to let you go
I’m not going to let you
slip away
You don’t have to be afraid
Mercy said no
Sin will never take control
Life and death stood face to face
Darkness tried to steal my heart away
Thank you
Jesus, Mercy said no

For God so loved the world, that He sent His son to save us
From the cross He built a bridge to set us free
Oh but deep within our hearts, there is still a war that rages
And makes a sacrifice so hard to see
As midnight fell on cruxificition day
The light of hope seemed oh so far away
As evil tried to stop redemption’s flow

(Repeat Chorus)

(Bridge)
And now when heaven
looks at me
It’s through the blood of
Jesus
Reminding me of one day long ago

(Repeat Chorus)

No longer a broken smile

Lately my life has not been its norm.  I’ve been going through surgeries to undo some damage that I have walked through most of life with, and some from the drug abuse I did that eased the pain of the abuse, and the spiral just continued.  It got to the point where my health was seriously at stake, and I no longer could ignore it.  So some inflicted on me, some self inflicted.  This has been my summer of pain. Very intense. My smile was broken.

I want to share with you how awesome our GOD is!  Through this summer, HE has brought me beautiful people who do not know me, yet they pray for me, and I know it carried me through.  HE brought friends who do know me, closer to me.  HE placed me in front of my computer and provided so many good things for me to read and fill my mind. And the most precious thing to my heart…online church.  God does love HIS children, and although the enemy kicked me every inch of the way this summer, the LORD pulled me closer, and overwhelmed me with the way HE loves us!

Today I looked in the mirror, and some thing has definitely changed.  My mouth has been reconstructed on the inside, and my smile is new to me.  The damage and abuse that I went through as a small child through to young adult life had taken the smile that GOD had given me.  This may not mean much to anyone but me, and thats okay…but I rejoice in how HE gives back what the enemy has taken…even something so small as a smile.  I thank HIM for caring so much about the little things in our lives, and for giving me my hubs that felt my smile was worth every penny it cost.  Thanking GOD for providing that income as well.  God is good, HE does take the bad and make it good, and HE is the lifter of my head!
