Pray 4 your children(bc you love them)

These are my children (playing with mom’s Mac).  Absolutely adore these three people, i would go so far as to say they are my most favorite people in the whole world! if you have children you understand in my heart in that statement.

Praying for our children is the one thing that they need the most.  Money is awesome and they love it..but not really what they need the most. All the things we struggle with in our adult life, they have started struggling with by 12 years old.  pier-pressure is the worst ever, the people they come in contact with as they find their way in the world are anything but kind, so many will try to define them, and cause them to look at their self differently than God says they are. then there is also the task of not only looking for a mate, but wanting a mate.

Pray for children..set a time aside each morning with your coffee to just lift each one up to HIM, lay them at HIS feet to grow them, to lead them, to bring them closer to HIM, to protect them, to help them make good choices, and to help them to believe HIM. Pray for that spouse that HE has already picked for them, pray they wait for the one HE has chosen.(this is not something we need to wait to pray for..start right now)

Children are a gift from God to us, we have such a short time to influence their life with good values, directing them to God, holding them and reassuring them of the love we have for them…then ultimately they will take their place where God has planned for them. it doesn’t cost anything but your time, and only a few minutes a day, to love them like no one else will ever love them..praying for them because we love them.

DO SOMETHING-get out of the comfort zone

Been paying attention to what gets response on my Facebook. I have mixed group on my facebook. Christ followers, friends I grew up with, relatives, and co-workers, Christfollowers make up 70 % of my friends list.

This weekend  I finally grasped something that has been bothering me for a while.  As Christfollowers, we are quick to disregard things that are not comfortable, things that are not complementing to ourself, and overall would cause us to maybe do something.  Sorry in advance if this is stepping on your toes..well no apology is necessary.

So many children around the world need our help in one way or another.  I support a child in India through Compassion, for the last 6 years.  Love him!  There are many groups that can be helpful in directing you in how to help a child in need.  Christian Organizations.  But the one that has my heart, is Invisible Children of Uganda.  Its not Christian Organization, although Christians started it.  Its more of a Humanitarian effort.  Together we can make a difference in this country, and for these children.  I am asking you to come out of your comfort zone, and just watch any of the videos on their website.  Write a letter to your congressman, send out an email to entire list to raise awareness…DO SOMETHING..together we can help these children.

I hear so many people say “I am following Jesus”..I think Uganda and the Invisible Children are exactly where HE would be…Jesus loves the children of the world..and what we have done or not done for the least of these we have done to HIM… Please just hear these people out, and pray about how you can help them.

School Is In! the Bus saga continues…

I wish my bus had a smile like that, but we can pretend!  Another school year is well under way.  Some children are the same as last year, some are new, and over all I have a great bunch of kids! I start at 6:30 am and thru the course of a day , approximately 270 kids come thru my bus, twice a day.  Sounds like a lot, but they each have a face, a name, a place to pick them up  and a place to take them home.  WOW God trusts me with that!

Every day, I wonder “why”, you know, why Lord am I here? each year is added more restrictions about what I can say to the children, more is taken away ( i may not hug a crying child, or give a high five for a job well done, no physical contact in anyway). Maybe I am there to pray for them, and that I do.  Maybe I am there to smile for the ones who will not see a smile anywhere else today.

What ever the reason, I am here because I am exactly where God wants me, and even if I never understand completely, I understand that God has a plan, and is in control of every second of my day.  My choice is to join HIM in whatever HE is doing.

Today…HE was nudging me to draw attention to a little girl who rode my Kindergarten bus last year.  This child is never cleaned up, she not only does not smile, she has NO none absolutely any expression ever. She will not answer you, and she is not rude, just silent, eyes never leave the floor, and she is extremely nervous and intimidated, insecure issues seems like an understatement.  So today, I raised attention.  I asked the aide if she knew “Maddie”, she said “I never noticed her before”.  I told her to notice her.  Something is terribly wrong with this child. I mentioned it again to the principal at her school.  I plan on being a real pain! about this until someone looks into what is going on with her.  So tonight when life slows down, and you have a chance to reflect on your day, Pray for Maddie, pray that they will notice her, and that whatever help she needs, she will get quickly. Pray for her safety.  I may not be able to reach out more openly, directly to her, but NO ONE tells God where HE can go, or what HE can do..I know HE hears the prayers of HIS children, and I know HE moved on my heart to DO SOMETHING for her.

Thank you in advance! Jesus loves the little children…all the children of the world..

Uganda’s Invisible Children

Awareness starts with us, as we become aware we have a humanitarian right responsibility to pass on awareness. As a Christ follower, I am obligated to care about children…all children..all races, all sizes, all parts of the world.

As my own awareness grew in this part of the world, my heart breaks for these children, my anger flares against this government that chooses to pretend they are not there, and that this is not happening.  Do you know what is happening in Uganda? Go here and spend some time looking through the videos, google it..but please be aware, that children are being stolen to become a childrens army, killing machines or be killed, and the others who have not been stolen yet live in constant fear that they will.  Mother’s walk their children most of the day to get to a sanctuary that really is not fit for anything to live in, but they are together in a large group. They sleep there on the floor hundreds of them, and then they wake up and walk home and a couple hours will make the trip again to sleep.  They generally get something to eat once a day (if its a good day). They are the government of Uganda’s best kept secret.

Growing awareness is one way to help.  As more people know about these children, the government will be forced to care, not just in Uganda but in our own government, and countries around the world.  There are no figures how many have already died or how many have been taken, no one is counting, that makes it not happening..sooo very sad!  As a Christ follower, I have no choice but to care.  Jesus loves the children…He also said “I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was naked and you did not clothe me..Be gone from me”  I do not want to hear HIM say that to me. At the same time I look at their faces, and listen to their fear,  “these are children created in my image” goes through my mind over and over.  I am sure I will be updating this from time to time.  Praying that every one who reads this will find a way to raise awareness, to find a way to help.  They are children who should not have fear when they sleep that they will be taken, and killed if they cry, and forced to steal and kill more people.  A child Army..and the damage that is done to the ones that are killing….Please help the Invisible Children of Uganda…I can see them, can you?

This is how they sleep together, with a few adults looking over them with guns to try to protect them.

Child Soldier

Do what’s right, human rights are violated.  Created in the image of God…
