Abortion, is it just a women’s battle?

A good friend of mine has posted on Abortion from a man’s perspective, responsibility, and seeking to prevent the reasons that women would do this.  Its refreshing to see men take their place, own what is theirs, and want to provide and protect their families.  Men I encourage you to take a look at these posts found here. Women , I encourage you to also read, and be encouraged by what God is doing.

What are your thoughts? Do men have anything at all to do with this? Can they make a difference? As these men take their place to make a difference, Women…its ultimately your choice.

Father God, i lift up our country to you. We have been silent while the slayings of innocent life is being condoned. You have knit together each one of those babies in the wombs of those women, you have a plan we can not fathom. At the same time you are not surprised by all this, and you knew we would make such terrible choices. Praising you for the way you are raising up the men, showing them how to make a difference, and ultimately giving women hope.  That is so like you to take a terrible situation and make it glorious. Your Princess who is elated to see you working in this area

Reflections…

There are times when quiet relection seems to be all that one can do, especially if you are a person who feels the need to do something. I am that type of person.

Lately a whole new level with the LORD has begun to open up, and following HIM is the only true option.  Awareness has become a strong sense to me, and equally hard to describe.  Looking in the the mirror, or a window, or water…the person who is reflected back to me, is new to me.  My past seems to be seperated from me, and who i once was is a stranger to me.  Healing? maybe…

Moving on with HIM, where ever this takes me.  At times just surrending, lifting my arms to HIM and saying, “even if i resist, just take me”.  Do you ever find yourself resisting?  Wish i could say that i don’t, but too many times i do.

Its time to get on with this thing called Faith and believing, its time to blindly allow HIM to lead, and trusting that HE is good (not necessarily safe).  In this time of reflection, HE reminds me over and over…”Believe me here, I do not fail you”…

This morning he woke me to a song that HE woke me with many years ago…and it touched my heart so deeply.  The memories of that time flooded my heart, a time when HE was new to me, a time when things seemed very uncertain, and i time when i knew without a doubt that HIS arms and love flowed over me.

HE is the same God, yesterday, today, and forever, never changing…the God of my yesterday, today and forever…HE’s been there all along, and yes i do know HIM, and yes HE is believeable and trustworthy..

How long has it been that you have allowed silence into your home, nothing but the Word, nothing but Praise music?  I promise you, its worth the effort, and a time of relecting always follows.

if you are interested this is the song that HE has waken me to…

ahhhhh the safe place

God,

you are our refuge,

our strong tower,

our mighty fortress.

We wander off

chasing all that glitters.

Then we speak as if profoundly

“looking for a safe place to land”.

The world has no true safe places.

Everyone has an agenda of sorts.

You are our safe place to land.

Remind us constantly to remain in you.

your princess, who lives in your stronghold (and so glad to be home)

Exploring my gifts…

Today I spent the day with people I do not know, and two I have met briefly.  We explored our Gifts from God.  It was all very exciting, and informative. At the same time very humbling, and terrifying.  God does expect a return on those gifts for HIS glory. So many of mine, have laid untouched for a year. So its quite an understatement to say , “God has lit a fire under my butt”..but HE has.  For that I am grateful.  Also very repentant.

Would we allow any other gift to lay in a corner and not open it? not use it? not show some kind of excitement?

While thinking of how much of a disappointment I am to HIM, I realized that something else was going on in this room…

I was learning and seeing with my own eyes how each person has gifts that are not all the same, and we compliment each other very well. There was no pride or arrogance.  Unity filled the room.  Then HE nudged me… “you love them, don’t you? you are loving the body of Christ”  oh! i have prayed for that so long, and thought i would never sense that in a structured environment.

I love HIM so! Thankful for the gifts HE has given to me, and praying that I will grow into each one of them and use them for HIS glory.  HE always knows what I need, and always knows exactly how to encourage me!

Father God, you know the plans you have for me.  At times it terrifies me at all you have entrusted to me. Realizing that it because  I fear failing you. But You do not fail me.  Please help me to take my place in Your body, using the gifts you have given me, and overcoming the fears that I have. I love you LORD, and I am lifting up my gifts to you for your glory.  As you have said it will be…so will it be. Your Princess who is shaking her head, taking deep breaths as I dive in deeper…

Relationship? waz dat?

Do you know what relationship really is? and do you have any?  Unfortunately, not too many really do, and the next generation even less, and the teens today are lacking it, and their behavior is showing it.

GOD wired us for relationship….

HE wired us to feel physical touch,

HE wired us to feel loved,

HE wired us to hear kind words, soft voices, friendly eyes looking back at us.

I love modern technology! Can’t wait to see what comes out next! But our culture today is very deceptive in the way it tears the relationship away.  NOT saying that good things are not happening as well. But how about the people physically close to us?

Teen on my bus…”my mom texts me too much, and i follow her on twitter, i run out of things to talk to her about”.   Me: ” so what do you do when you get home?”  teen: stay mostly in my room, homework, facebook, twitter…mostly bored”.  we have become a culture more and more of short messages, we don’t even spell correctly anymore, and we forget to touch, to laugh, to slow down, have conversation that does not include technology. Scary…the enemy will take something that is good and use it against us if we are not careful.

Relationships take time, the need to experience each other is necessary. Time spent together is necessary.  I know..We have it undercontrol.  or do we?  What are a children learning from us as we move through this technology era..how are they applying what they see?

I am no longer surprised that believers in Jesus Christ, do not believe in a personal relationship with HIM, we live in an age where relationship is disposable, and as easy as click to rid a person from your following.  I guess the enemy has done his homework, and praying that the body of Christ will do theirs..literally.

AGAIN..i am not knocking twitter, facebook, or any other technology…please don’t allow those things to be your only relationships, and God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit are not on these things..they are sitting beside you..waiting for relationship.

What in your own definition is relationship? How does one come into a deeper relationship with anyone?
