I Corinthians 2:12
We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
When I receive a gift, I explore it! I want to know everything about it, and how it applies to me. SO while studying, the application to self is huge. And not only for me, but for every believer.
I Corinthians 2:10-11
but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
The Holy Spirit searches and knows the deep things of God! HE knows HIS thoughts! try wrapping your mind around that for a while. HE lives in you…
Romans 8:26-27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
God knows the mind of the Spirit as well as the Spirit knowing HIS..and the Spirit prays/intercedes for us! This is something to do the a happy dance about! SO many times in weakness, and in walking through the fire, we just don’t know how to pray, and we lay it at HIS feet, and the Spirit of God already knows the plan and is interceding for all that is necessary to complete the plan, and bring us to the exact place that God has already planned for us.
This is just another taste of what I have been working on as I press on to fulfill my calling, learning more about the gift that GOD has given us to insure we are overcomers. Ultimatly, its your choice to follow the Spirit or grieve HIM. But the Gift remains..
What do you do with a new gift? How do you respond to its application for you personally? (I am not looking for a Christianese answer, I am looking for your answer to how you recieve a gift, holidays or otherwise)

If i gave you the gift of a New Corvette, and you let it sit in your yard, never started it up, never used it, – what a waste. Even if you invited your friends over to see it, but never took them for a ride, what a wasted gift. We need to use God’s gift to us and share it!!!!!

Hmmm…I’m not too big on gifts. Usually when I receive one I’m thrilled and excited to “use” it.
The Christianese threw me for a loop, because I wanted to comment on the “deep things of God.” Maybe another time…

Michelle~you can comment any way you like, I was just trying to get the reader to look a little deeper… sometimes we all just know the answers, but that doesn’t mean they are applied or that we even believe..this is just a excerpt of something that I am working on, but your comments are always welcomed!
Hmmm … how do I receive a gift? Usually with a mind to the person giving it. I am not a “Gifts” person – never have been – so I have to pay attention and see the heart behind the gift, and why they got it for me.
(Loved the commentary on the Scriptures Darls. HE knows what to intercede for us – definitely so true!)
Annie- your comment is exactly what I was looking for, i am the same way at times, and wondering through this study if that is why we do not recieve HIS gift and have the full benefits of God the Spirit living in us, unbelief maybe..not sure, but as I study I am looking at the human mind as well, and wondering what kind of lies the enemy has planted in HIS children to have them not recieve the gift in full? just my thoughts…
