Does God care? really?

I Peter 5:7  Cast all your cares on HIM, because HE cares for you.

In my humanness, I have spent endless hours reading and learning  and just wanting to know how to “Cast my cares on HIM”. Don’t get me wrong, the time has not been wasted.

While walking day in and day out in a broken cursed world, it becomes discouraging at times, people generally do not care, and the church is not exempt in that.  It seems we pick and choose what we will care about, and we discard the rest.  My conversation with the LORD lately has been along the lines that I am bombarded with people who do not care about what is surrounding them, and they care even less for me.  I am the kind of person that generally that rolls off me, and I soon become very uncaring too. Or maybe immune to it.  I have certainly seen alot more uncaring in my life than genuine concern or just gentle caring.

Our GOD is faithful! While studying, and conversing with HIM about how badly I tend to feel walking through this world, I really want HIM to change my heart and my “want to”, to just line up more with HIS.  It was important that I looked at “why” the feelings even stir in me that seem to drive me.  And it all came down to..”They don’t care about me”.  The Holy Spirit, whom I am studying more about, guided me to I Peter 5:7.  My heart sank, and I automatically went in the direction to cast my cares on HIM…still must be doing that wrong.. NO…HE showed me how we stop there, and miss the biggest part of that verse..”because HE cares for us”.

Repeat that over and over in your heart today, it will shine a new light on you, it will give you strength to push ahead, and it fills us with HIS love and care, enough to endure the world around us.  Our Creator, our KING, our Daddy, HE CARES FOR US..HE CARES!

  1. It seems we pick and choose what we will care about, and we discard the rest.

It is the same attitude of:

Seems people are quick to pick what part of the word they want to listen to and discard the rest.

He cares Darla, he so cares. He hung on the cross because he cared. It is the world that doesn’t care… We as followers of Christ are meant to be different. We can not pick and choose. We must accept the whole of the Truth, and love/care for all.

    Love ya sis.

  2. Thanks for that “HE cares for us, HE cares for us…. HE cares FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

That resonates in my spirit, Darla! Thank you Holy Spirit, for bringing this into focus for all of us!

  3. Carl- I hear you, and raise up an AMEN as well! No down play on the cross, but sometimes we accept Christ as our Saviour, and the enemy is very good causing us doubt as to does HE care about us individually and as a corporate group..”God so loved the world”, yes HE did and does, but “He cares for YOU”..that speaks volumes to my heart this week, as learning to love even when it is not reciprocated, its much harder when they are open with “i don’t care about you”..mmm the enemy knows how to kick so it hurts.. but GOD rushes in and is so awesome in the covering, and speaks this to my heart..”I care for you, and go on now girl, what could be better?” hahaha HE always makes me smile, and puts a new song in my heart..make no mistake the gospel message is trump! but personal growth in the LORD starts with knowing who we are in HIM, and how HIS heart sees us…HUGE!

Bajanpoet- SSSSWEEEEEET!!! yah…no doubt..do a little dance, raise up some praise….HE cares..eyes on us..and ready to fill us with whatever the world steals..HE don’t run out of nothing!!!! I care about you too!

  4. Yes, the Lord cares for us, for me, for you; and we want others to not only know that, but to also feel it. It is only when they ‘feel’ it that they are able to manifest it to others around them. We all want to feel wanted, needed, cared for; and we expect that to come from those around us who name the name of Christ. But, it doesn’t happen that way too often, does it?
It hurts when that happens, when we are not accepted, not loved–but in word only. When that happens, I am sorely pressed to not take my eyes off the Lord. I put them on man, and end up offended–a part of the walking wounded Body of Christ. It is then I must remember the first part of that passage–“humble myself” I must learn to humble myself before He humbles me.
    Easier said than done.
Thank you for this wake up call today.

  5. I used to struggle with this verse. It seemed, at times, I was being told to only bring the big things to God, as though He’s really not concerned about the little things. And I felt so much of my cares weren’t big enough to give Him. So I held on to them. I finally realized the burden of carrying so much when He had said He’d take care of ALL.

It is freeing to know He does care about ALL of it…every piece of our existence matters to Him.

Thanks for the reminder, Darla! Love you. 😉

  6. Dale- amen and AMEN! HE wanted to teach me this on a different level than before, HE wanted me to not forget that HE does all the things I need for me..and no one else matters, I still care for them, but my heart is being taken care of by the MOST HIGH!

Michelle- HE cares about YOU, not just that you are, but that you are HIS, HE cares about the hurts, and the smallest of discouragement that you will encounter..HE CARES, and there is nothing better to this believer to grasp that nothing goes unnoticed, We are never blown off, We are never ignored, We are loved so much, that every tiny little thing in our life HE cares about..Rest in that today!! does a heart some good!

  7. DEb

And I THANK HIM for loving and CARING for me…..and you…and all us horrible humans! We get so desensitized to this world and all it’s “uncaringness”… (if that’s not a word, it is now! 🙂 I hold onto HE CARES.

    GREAT POST!
