Blogged Bible Study – John 14 (my virtual philosophy and approach to life)

I love this chapter, it has been a place where I have spent lots of time with GOD, and a place where alot of my searching began with HIM. Learning to love HIM and learning to know HIM.  I only picked one verse to write on, as it has been my path for many years…learning the command, applying, and seeking HIS face more than HIS hand…HE is amazing!

John 14:21  Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me.   He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. (NIV)

KJV-will manifest myself

NASB-will disclose myself

Amplified-will show(reveal, manifest) myself

CEV-show you what I am like

Message-make myself plain to him

This verse John 14:21, has always been huge to me.  HE is saying that following HIS command being obedient is showing love for HIM, and it is reciprocated.  How I don’t know, but it certainly is a motivator. What is the greatest commands? The greatest command is: Love the Lord your God, with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. It is mentioned 12 times in the Bible.  (Lev.19:17-18, Matt. 22:36-40, Mark 12:28-33, Luke 10:25-28, John 13:31-35, John 15:12-13, John 15:17, Romans 13:8-9, I John 2:7-11, I John 3:23, I John 4:21, II John 1:3-6)  I , in myself, am no brainiac, but if I follow this verse it says that I will know HIM more.

Praying daily to be empowered to Love HIM more, and to know HIM more.  This has been my prayer for a few years, and I believe that no matter how deep you go into these words, God means what HE says, and HE has penned this through John and others…Love ME, be obedient to me.  Why would we not want HIM to reveal HIMself to us?  So the mysteries of HIS revelations are here in this verse…”follow my command and this will show your love for me, and I will show myself to you”  I want every bit HE will show me in this mortal body, and to experience all that HE wants for me. This verse has become my virtual philosophy and approach to life.

Please check out the others who are participating in this study,  I always look forward to what stood out to them, and how it all fits together..LOVE IT!  Go here for the schedule of who, when and where.

A Talk I Needed Today

Me: Lord, they rip and tear at thier own family, your family, and it builds in me to strike back.

LORD: Deuteronomy 32:35  “Vegeance is mine”

Me: Lord, their anger is like a virus that can not be contained. Rise up and shut thier mouths, as they do us harm.  They mock the things you have spoken to us, and have appointed themselves as your mouth piece…

LORD: Galations 6:7 “God will not be mocked”

Me: I believe and so be it…Your will not mine,  I still feel like crap about it, I really wanted to rant…

LORD:  Keep your eyes on me and the tasks that I have already given you..and remember Philippians 4:8,9  Whatever..whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Me:  (speechless and back to work..for the Kingdom)

A little piece of my heart

This is a little piece of my heart-

Lately, working on gathering names of women and children who are needy in my community, so that as a church we can provide for them.  I have done this for several years, but last year was the first time that I had the experience of a church family that got involved and helped.  For most of them it was a first time.  I am huge on follow up, I don’t want to just feed their bellys (although if that is all they will let me do, I am okay with that).  So normally I plan a follow up Christmas party (happy birthday Jesus) and invite the same families, and try to pull Christmas together for their children.  They always get the Gospel message in this.

This year the Lord has been laying something different on my heart.  As I worked through it and talked with my Pastors, I became very excited about it.  This year we are looking to the church family to adopt a needy family, and when delivering the food for thanksgiving, start building a relationship with them, follow up with providing Christmas for the same family, and share the Gospel with them, invite them to church, and genuinely just walk beside them.

My first time doing this, I ended up on a doorstep of an elderly woman in a three room apartment with three generations living with her, when I spoke of Jesus she cried…and my heart shattered to here her story. She was under a witness protection program, moved and forgotten…she hugged me and said…”I know Jesus and I know HE sent you to help me, thank you, this little baby only has two diapers and is drinking his last bottle”  HE does things like this if we just follow…oh that we would have spirits that follow!

Some of my readers that have been with me since  know that this is my heart.  I love talking to these people, and showing them Jesus.  When one comes to Christ, I know the party in my heart that goes on, I try to imagine the party that happens in Heaven.

As the Holidays are fast approaching us, would you pray for the Lord to guide you to that one person who truly needs something that you can provide?  I don’t have much and I can tell you that it isn’t a prerequiste.  God always provides.

Father God, please help us to be your hands and feet, to have willing hearts, and to be a picture of your love…not just some days but everyday, and every where we go.  I love you so!

Blog Love

I have been wandering around on the blogosphere in search of hearts! That sounds strange, but some blogs are set up for family to keep in touch, and somehow I feel like I am intruding. Although its a blog for all to read.  In my search, I have been looking for hearts that have servants heart, a mode for outreach, and first and foremost a heart for God.  Yes, I have those already, but  I know the body of Christ is bigger than my bubble, and I have never been good at bubble dwelling.  I guess my past has caused me to be somewhat of a wanderer.  Love me anyway!

Here are some blogs I would love for you to visit.  Blogs that fan the flame in my soul to keep moving in the direction that the Lord has already put on my heart.  Nuf said??

The LORD has put these people on my heart to love and pray for, to find ways that I can help support their mission.  These are our sisters in Christ, and our brother in Christ, another part of our family…Thank you Jesus for putting them in my path, and using them to keep it alive and moving…thank you for their hearts that are following hard after you in the direction that you have set for them, and Father bless them.  Give them a special sense of YOU today, as they are your hands and feet in living out your love to those they come in contact with. And help us to see the ways in which we can also be of assistance to them or to those around us.  Praise you Jesus for what you are doing around the world, and for loving the children and saying “Let the children come to me”…How awesome You are! Always in Jesus name, your princess
