Self, you have become extremely annoying and overtly distracting. Seems to me you were supposed to be dead, but when I least expect you..there you are with all your ugliness! So what ever it takes, and however long the battle, you- Self can’t win. You see…

I am limiting my time this week on blogsville, I will still be around just not near as much…I am battling “self”, and not quite understanding how something that is dead, still has so much strength. Do you battle with Self, is this something that will never end on earth? If so, then what does Galations 2:20 mean…?

Gal. 2:20 is “in the process” of becoming a reality. We are not yet there, but we are definitely closer than when we first believed. We must also practice Rom. 8:13–putting to death on a daily basis. Jesus said we must deny self and take up the cross daily. It is a daily walk.
Remember, you are spirit, soul, and body. My soul has had 60+ years of giving expression to the deeds of self. It is now learning how to give expression to the things of the Spirit.
It is a process, dear one.
Taking time off from blogging may be exactly what you need, if that is something that ‘feeds’ the self. (Rom. 13:14)
That being said, we will definitely miss your input and insights. You’re a gem.

Think in the context of chapter 2 and the book of Galatians. The issue was Judaizers who would add works of law to grace and faith. As belieers we are ‘dead’ (having been cruicified with Christ) to the requirements of the law. Rmember this is Paul, who also wrote Romans 7, in which he described the battle between the spirit and the flesh.
