Pouring back my Praise on HIM

Sorry this is the only vid I could find of this song, without it looking like I was singing in my living room.. LOL  This is one of my favorite songs, and I always walk away remembering how Great is my God, and how much HE has done for me.  I always leave this song wanting to pour my love and praise on HIM as HE is all that is worthy.

CeCe Winans- Alabaster Box  (listen and follow the words…I think something in it will resonate with you)

ALABASTER BOX

The room grew still

As she made her way to Jesus

She stumbles through the tears that made her blind

She felt such pain

Some spoke in anger

Heard folks whisper

“there is no place here for her kind”

Still on she came

through the shame that flushed her face

until at last she knelt before HIS feet

And although she said no words

Everything she said was heard

As she poured her love for the Master

from her box of Alabaster

And I’ve come to pour

my praise on HIM  like oil

from Marys alabaster box

Don’t be angry if I wash HIS feet with my tears

and dry them with my hair

You weren’t there the night HE found me

You did not feel what I felt

WHen HE wrapped HIS loving arms around me

You don’t know the cost of the oil in my alabaster box

I can’t forget the way life used to be

I was a prisoner to the sin that me bound

And I spent my days

poured my life without measure

into a little treasure box, I thought I found

Until the day when Jesus came to me

And HE healed my soul

with the wonder of HIS touch

So now I’m giving back to HIM

All the praise HE’s worthy of

I’ver been forgiven and thats why

I love HIM so much

  1. My wife and I love that song; she sings it occasionally in church. What powerful lyrics. That Ce Ce Winans girl sure can sing. I believe Karen Wheaton does that song, too.

  2. thanks PP I just changed the vid..couldn’t get the other one to work…I will check out Karen Wheaton.. have a great Lord’s day!

  3. Hi – i have been really trying to stay more focused on Christ’s love than I ever have before. I think he wants us to accept as Savior but then to be servants to others. Christ was considered the greatest teacher, but his real purpose was redemption and to be a servant.

I really needed this today, Darla. I haven’t praised enough. I get stuck in self-pity and shame. He has forgiven me of so much and I need to keep my focus on Him.

Beautiful song…I’ve never heard it before. Thanks.

  5. I love you Darla. I’m back.

The song is beautiful. CeCe is one of my favorite gospel artists. I just posted one of her songs today.

    Talk to you soon.

  6. This is a great song! I am reminded of those words sometimes when I am struggling to understand someone or when I find myself becoming judgmental. We don’t always know the “cost” that someone else has paid.

i can not judge someone elses walk, passion and dedication to Him. neither can someone else, or should someone else, judge mine. i dont have their faith, their experience, their trials, their perspective. what great lyrics. so powerful!

  8. Michelle- glad that something touched you in this .. I am sure that was God.

Gch- Baby Girl!! I have missed you..now we can share CeCe too..she is my girl, my peep, and an awesome example of God’s love.

Tam- this song has brought me to my knees so many times, especially when I feel judged for loving and praising HIM maybe a little louder than others, or maybe just trying to fit someone elses mold for the Christian walk, and thats not mine…and at times, I have heard those same whispers of rebuke…that there is no place here for me…and WHAT DO THEY KNOW!! love you girl, and your walk is between you and Jesus, always…I am just crazy about you!!

Papa- all eyes on YOU JESUS, and to be a servant just like HIM when I grow up 😉

  9. Ramsey- I didn’t see you til now! my bad…Love you too and glad to share a little Lord’s Day with you…this song will bring me to my knees and my hands to the sky…everysingle time!

  10. Darla, have you checked out Karen Wheaton’s rendition yet? Our youth group performs lots of dramas to Karen Wheaton’s music, and she has a great ministry working with young people, too.

That CeCe is an incredible woman of God.

  11. I haven’t had a chance yet, but I will! thank you

  12. I couldn’t watch this video, but the words! Oh, the words! I am going to try to view the video again so I can hear the song.

Have you heard ‘One Touch’ by Nicole C. Mullen? If not, please check it out. The words to Alabaster Box kinda remind me of One Touch.

    Love you!

  13. tam
