We can debate theologies til we are blue in our face or til Jesus comes! Would someone please tell me what does it serve, or better who does it serve? The great commissioning doesn’t say anything about it, and I am guessing that once we have fullfilled the original plan then we can have at it.
But where is the Love? Where is the hope? Where is the faith? sometimes we honestly have to accept things, and believe that God knows and HE has a plan… Sometimes we cause more pain instead of healing, and most of the time we forget that someone may be listening or watching our carelessness, who may very well be on the edge of believing. What are we portraying in our everyday lives, in our blogs, and in our humor?
I want to portray Jesus in all that I do. Even in my blog… I am not a follower of Matthew Henry, I am not a follower of Calvin, I am not a follower of who ever else may be used for debate…I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and child of GOD, and for the record…GOD is not silent, and if you ask HIM, I believe HE will tell you what you need to know for today, and the Holy Spirit will guide and teach you what you need to learn in the HIS perfect timing.
OUTREACH- so many are writing about it, and honestly are you doing it? or just telling others how they should? Sitting home and blogging about it doesn’t constitute doing anything, unless of course you are called to instruct…mmmmm
YES christians, Christ followers are human, we screw up, we live life like every one else..we repent, we are forgiven..and sometimes we rant!
ya baby, glad you feel better 🙂
thanks…I do feel better. 😆
That wasn’t all that bad! lol Most people think papa is easy, a push over – but DO NOT EVER mistake my kindness as a weakness !! I can rant if I have too! :o) Especially if you are hurting children – or causing them to stumble. Pray that God helps you – before I get there!
“better who does it serve?” It serves self….that’s who it serves. I have been guilty…but now I am aware and that’s a much better place to be.. 😉
“What are we portraying in our everyday lives, in our blogs, and in our humor?” Amen Sista! ****applause****
“so many are writing about it, and honestly are you doing it? or just telling others how they should? Sitting home and blogging about it doesn’t constitute doing anything, unless of course you are called to instruct…mmmmm” ******whistle******* clap, clap

This made me do a happy dance Darla dear! You need to rant way more often! I’m glad u feel better too baby! 🙂

Col4:5-6 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

But
He was just gaga for Tam.

Uck, but fast!!
Fajitas, You make them yourself.
You’ll fix right in here
yup make them myself…thats the best way…and tacos..and enchiladas..love me some mexican and puertorican food…rice and beans….hahhahaha talk about culture..my frig is full of culture hahaha
Your post really has me steamed not in a bad way. But in a healthy way.
I’m trying to get a volunteer program started at our church and this week I am just racking my brain.
Over everything you said here.
dang sitters!!!
i am working on showing and spoon feedig a bunch, I think some really don’t know what to do…you have to say if you could or would do this…sign up..and offer food…whats up with church people needing food all the time…it cracks me up that we always have food at things… 😯
food does make my boy happy though!
I think food is comfort and fellowship.
I love to eat too.. Expecially my husband’s mexican.
What bothers me is that people expect you to do it, instead of wanting to help you do it. They’ll sit back and laugh and say “hey that man rocks, he does all that stuff” then when we ask for some help.. Oh no I am too busy all in the same breathe.
Outreach is difficult.
I think I scared Tam away??
I’m sorry!!
out reach is time consuming…and i pray alot about it…so you think what we are feeling or sensing is the verse that says the fields are ready for harvest but the laborers are few? I sometimes think that..I pray for God to send more help…
Tam is not scared away…her work here is done (for now)
Yea.. totally.
If we could expand our tent pegs and have the laborers and the great leaders, I thing their would be a HUGE revival, that we Have never seen before!!!
I would love to see that in my life time…
gotta run baby..
Love you so much Princess…
I am praying for you specifically from your email, tomorrow morning as I walk the beach and gazed into my ocean…
Know that I love you much.
Oh Oh.. A real Revival, with repenting, people turning there life over to the Lord, and a resurgence of Christ’s Church… I am so there.
Makes me want to pitch a tent…
To bring it down a bit, and to a personal level… I believe the real revival needs to happen in our homes. More men need to stand up and lead there Family to the lord. If every Dad did that the world would change drastically.
AMEN… Moms too.
Yes…Mom’s also, but they need a Husband who is willing to lead… 😉 The whole Ephesians thing: Eph 5: 25-28 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
OK.. Good night.. God bless, rest well in his arms.
“Would someone please tell me what does it serve, or better who does it serve? ”
A.W. Tozer would offer this in answer:
“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.
The history of mankind will probably show that no people has ever risen above its religion, and man’s spiritual history will positively demonstrate that no religion has ever been greater than its idea of God. Worship is pure or base as the worshiper entertains high or low thoughts of God.
For this reason the gravest question before the Church is always God Himself, and the most portentous fact about any man is not what he at a given time may say or do, but what he in his deep heart conceives God to be like. We tend by a secret law of the soul to move toward our mental image of God. This is true not only of the individual Christian, but of the company of Christians that composes the Church. Always the most revealing thing about the Church is her idea of God, just as her most significant message is what she says about Him or leaves unsaid, for her silence is often more eloquent than her speech. She can never escape the self-disclosure of her witness concerning God.
A right conception of God is basic not only to systematic theology but to practical Christian living as well. It is to worship what the foundation is to the temple; where it is inadequate or out of plumb the whole structure must sooner or later collapse. I believe there is scarcely an error in doctrine or a failure in applying Christian ethics that cannot be traced finally to imperfect and ignoble thoughts about God.

Dr. James White speaks to the fact that Theology Matters in this short video clip:
Darla, you are so right, that is why when I blog I use “I”. See I want to share and touch other people, but I do not want to point the finger at anyone. You know all the fighting causes is that fighting and the love is not there. I also agree that we should not rely on just one christian evangelist, we should look at them all. Also, I agree with you, that when you are in the word, God will talk to me and I will seek Him. It just becomes useless to share with others after two christians make fools of themselves argueing about doctrine. I did it the other day and I felt horriable. I will not fight with another christian again.
[General Comment:]
If The Father did not have enough room for all of His children, He would never have built the house.
Nor- you are soooo right!
Tanya love you!
CK- speaking a word bro, speaking a word!
WOW sister! YOU GO GIRL!
You are absolutely right. I HATE that we, as Christians, will sit and argue with brothers and sisters about stupid little things. God speaks to everyone different. He gives us each different gifts. It takes ALL of us to make up the body, so why do we waste time trying to be the Holy Spirit for somebody else? It’s frustrating…YES!
Um. Have I told you I love you?
Yep. I do. I really do. 🙂
Heather,
Maybe I missed something here, but are you equating discussing theology with the intent of centering on the truth of Scripture ‘arguing . . .about stupid little things’?
Dan, I am sure she is not…please don’t be so offensive..really I love you and I love her..and I know that I know that I know…she is not meaning that.
No offense intended, but I sensed some of the ‘tone’ of this post as ‘can we forget about theological debate and just love each other’, as if theological debate wasn’t important. You even asked ‘what good does it serve’, and I tried to provide an answer. Heather seemed to be referring to theological debate as ‘arguing about stupid little things’. At least I asked her if that was what she meant. . .and didn’t slam her.
Perhaps the hint of sarcasm was a bit much for some?
Dan- I am very tenderhearted when it comes to the Lord, and how others see me in it…I just don’t usually come across so strong, and at times it really makes me stand back and feel alittle intimidated. So maybe its my bad 😳
