God is all powerful. Jesus Christ was given all authority in heaven and on earth. Then after the resurrection, HE commissioned the believers to go out and do what HE, himself(Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-18) illustrated for us. John the Baptist said the “kingdom of heaven” was coming.(Matt.3:2) Upon Jesus arrival to take up HIS cross, upon baptism, the “Kingdom of God” was near to all who encountered HIM, and through the miracles of the disciples. (who were not the ones doing the miracles, they were the ones by which God worked through..ultimately God perfomed miracles) Next the Holy Spirit coming to live in believers…the kingdom of heaven is here, will we allow it to do the job it came to do?
1And Jesus was saying to them, “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”
Did Jesus lie? Or did they see the time when the Holy Spirit came on believers and empowered them, and released the Kingdom of God… just lay down all doctrines and think about this…this is God’s word…and it is coming from God the Son…there is no place in the Word that says this has stopped, or that HE has taken it away from us. May I suggest that it is our own unbelief, and our own compromising of what we will do and what we will not do for our King. We have no power, because we refuse the Kingdom of God to work through us. This scares me!! 😯 Why do believers today have no authority over evil? We are supposed to. Why do we put the kingdom of God in a box (as if we could)? We only diminish HIM to ourselves. We walk in impurity, we walk in profanity, we think about things that are not excellent. And then we have the nerve to tell someone else that they have no power in God, because HE doesn’t do that anymore..or how about this one…fraud…God doesn’t speak today…
The world is seeing an non-existent God in us, one who is not strong enough to deliver, not caring, something along the lines of a mix between Santa and a Genie. We really need to repent..and allow the Kingdom of God to work through us..NO it won’t be about you, but it will be Glorious!!!
Father, you taught us to pray “Our Father who art in Heaven…Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”..some where along the way we have stopped asking for you kingdom to be present in our lives. We need it. We need it for our everyday tasks, so that you will be seen instead of us. We need you to forgive our unbelief, and strength us to move on what you speak to our hearts, and not ask for several billion confirmations…this is all disobedience and we need you to accept our repentance as I John 1:9. Today help us to be aware of your kingdom, and aware that as believers we are standing in the center of it. Help us to release our will and make it yours. Here on Earth release the Kingdom of God, as they war in the heavenlies, rule our minds to do what is needed to show you to others. Thank you for your love, patience, and forgiveness…we don’t deserve you, thank you for your Grace and hope…we are nothing without you! Your princess who really doesn’t grasp all of this, but doesn’t want to shut you down any place in my life, by making the wrong choice.

This made me cry….This is exactly, and I mean right on exactly what Jer and I have been learning the past 11/2 years. God is doing something….kingdom living is it. It is strange to that we Christians seldom talk about the thing Jesus talked about most. That, of course, is the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of Heaven. John the Baptist announced this kingdom in Matthew 3:1-2. Jesus later came into Galilee proclaiming it (Mk. 1:15). Much of Jesus’ teaching dealt with the Kingdom of God, and most all of his parables pictured it (Mark 4:30-33). The message of the kingdom was still the message of Jesus after his resurrection (Acts 1:3). It was also the message of the early apostles (Acts 8:12; 19:8).
In Matthew 24:14, Jesus makes plain that the gospel of the kingdom will again be preached to the whole world in the days just preceding the end of the age. Apparently we have lost this aspect of the gospel in our modern church. We might well wonder if it is the absence of this gospel that is causing such difficulty, failure and discouragement in much of the today’s Christian world.
Jesus expects his servants to exercise his authority and influence. In short, he expects them to be priests and kings on his behalf. In 1 Peter 2:9 we read: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
Kingdom living…we have to…period. Matthew 16:19 speaks of our authority if we can just start walking in it….
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loose in heaven.”
That’s us, He doesn’t say, I will bind and loose, He says we do…I grow so weary of having to explain things, that we are called to just believe on!
Thy Kingdom come Lord, thy will be done on earth….He prayed that as our example…in Heaven there is no illness, there is no poverty etc…..(No, for people who don’t know me, I am not name it and claim it, I am, I believe what God says for my life) It’s for the here and now, not some day…sorry, got me started…I choose to just believe, even if I don’t fully understand…it’s working, I pray for others to tap into it. Thank you. God has so put you in my life for such a time as this. I love you!
YES! Exactly the cry of my own heart: “Kingdom of God – COME! Will of God – BE DONE!” Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!
Darla, I just love how you think. Thank you for sharpening me through your blog 🙂
I feel sad when individuals focus more on getting to Heaven rather than experiencing His Kingdom on Earth. There is so much He wants us to do right here before we get to Heaven. He wants us to be disciples and invite more people to the Kingdom on Earth so they can rejoice with us in Heaven!
MWAH. Love you 🙂
I think we would all be saddened at what we are missing because of our focus on “our will” and not HIS. We need to stop being control freaks and let Him control His “freaks”

I am learning more and more each day what it is to live like this. I have not mastered it and have a full long way to go. But my desire is to do such. I know HE is who HE says HE is right now. In this very moment. NO DOUBT! He is bigger than I can wrap my head around!
I love Him fully and believe He is more powerful than anything in existence and will not delay in saying so. I make no apologies for anyone. It’s on HIM 🙂
Scott – LOVE your quote!!! We need to have that on a bumper sticker or T-Shirt!!! Awesome!

What a paragraph: “The world is seeing a non-existent God in us…” Darla, you nailed it! It’s not about us…I saw a tee shirt today: “It’s not about US, it’s about JESUS” I’m not one for pithy slogans or catch phrases, but I found myself praising God right there in line at the post office. It is True! Keep being the voice of One in the wilderness, Darla…thank God, other voices are joining in with yours!
Thanks all for just being you, and letting God work through you..it is going to be a blast when we all get home and get to see what HE was doing around us at this time…Lets do a little Kingdom living!! What change would happen if we be so kingdom minded…that it just spilled on everyone that came close to us?!?!??!!!! woohooooo! Lets break some Heaven loose!
