Another Army of Love – moves out

Matthew 28:17-20

17When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

John 3:14-18

14“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15so that whoever £believes will in Him have eternal life.

16“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Jesus sends us out to spread the Good News.  We are not being asked to do it, we are told to do it.  Sounds like an Obedience factor…I think it is.  It should be a joy for us to lift the Son of God up in front of man to save him from the judgement that is coming.  NO greater love is there than the Creator of the Universe providing a perfect sacrifice to build a bridge for us to come home to HIM and not suffer HIS wrath that we so deserve.

My daughter Trina, is committed to her second year as a summer missionary to her community and surrounding area.  Some of her work will be center city, and children who may never get this great news.  Can you just ponder that thought that some children will not hear or experience someone loving them like Jesus?  That is Trina’s heart to share and show them.  She is working under a group called Child Evangelism Fellowship.  She recently turned 16, and how precious that the Lord has already softened her heart to this call.  She will teach two sometimes three groups a day, all of which will be held outside where ever they are permitted to use someones yard or porch…they will teach them stories from the Bible, missionary stories, sing songs, and learn verses…and just love on some children in Jesus name!

Father God, I thank you for your love that is extended to the world, and yet you want each one personally.  I praise you for your continual prodding in our hearts to follow after you and to be diligent at your work.  I praise you for raising up another generation with more love and dedication for you.  I look at these young people going out this summer, and  I am blown away at their conviction, and their excitement to deliver a good word from you.  I pray that you will surround them with your hedge of protection, encourage their hearts, and show them exactly where you want them. Then I pray that you will bring the children that you have already prepared to recieve you.  Thank you LORD, that your word does not go out and come back void! You are an awesome God, we adore you!  There is truly  none like You!

*** If you feel it on your heart go over and visit her and encourage her, pray for her, and above all Praise God! He is sending out another army to spread HIS love, and set the place on fire!!!

Isn’t exciting when our children go for the things for God?

That is awesome. When I was 14, I knew that God called me to work with kids. Through the years I have worked with all kinds of kids in all kinds of situations. I would not trade it for the world. I will definitely encourage her in her endeavors.

  4. Thank you Ramsey72! I know HE must just smile on her! I through my own ministries, working with children is so rewarding..you can just about see HIM touching them..PRICELESS!!!

since the first time i was blessed to visit Trinas blog I knew in my Spirit she will be a force to be reckoned with. I have never “seen” a girl her age quite so passionate and determined for God and the lost!

I can not wait for Kassidi to spend some time with her!

Darla dear…I know that Trina has listened to Gods prodding on her own heart. And she ultimately is the one who decides whether or not she will be obedient and follow His call. But I have to say that you and hubs have done a remarkable job. You’ve given her a foundation and an expectation in your home. You have paved a path for her and have lead by example.

You are a perfect model to me of a godly parent. Thank you!!!

I love you and value you more than you know!

Darla: Can you be specific on her needs? Financial, spiritual etc. If you don’t want to here…send me an email, or I’ll catch ya on IM when I get home….Loves you!

  8. You are an amazing wife and mother & your leading by example has been a huge blessing to this family.

Thank you God for pulling us all in on this journey. Help us all to be more of a light to those around us.

    Go Trina 😎

  9. Darla – this will be a profound undertaking for your daughter. My prayer is that as Trina matures that “‘your” God becomes less and “her” God becomes more!

  10. Papa- Trina’s faith has long passed mine..her spirit is so sensitive to the Lord, and there are days I learn from her.

  11. Tam- Trina actually was the first one to become soft to the Lord, and she is a blessing to us, she keeps us looking up and she is the iron that sharpens this iron…as for being godly parents..that is what I would like, but I know how often I fall and get back up..mostly I am just honest about those things with her…she knows me very well.

Deb- I am going to mail you and Tam something to help you better pray for her…it covers some of this; that her support will come in, that she will be encouraged, that she keeps a pure heart towards HIM, and gets her studying done to be prepared….

    Hubs- we love you!

What Trina and her friends are doing is wonderful. And, in doing the work of the Lord, they are truly friends. In many congregations, the teenagers are there only because they are compelled to be there. They tend to be disrespectful and un-courteous during service—but then, so are many of their parents. Someone said, “teach your children to pray when they are young and they will be prayer worriers all their lives.” Likewise, if they develop a heart for spreading the Gospel when they are young . . . . May God continue to bless your daughter, her friends and their parents.

  13. John- thanks for stopping and for the blessings! God is good all the time..even when I don’t get it! 🙂 Glad HE always gets it…

  14. At 16? What an amazing calling! God rocks!

  15. tam

I didn’t know that about Trina Darla…being the first one softened to the Lord. That is incredible!

she is meant for great things!!! and her Spirit knows it! she’s living it!

  16. God is amazing and I’m so glad to hear young people responding to HIS call. What a difference it makes!!

    Blessings in Christ–

  17. Darla,

That is sooo awesome! CEF is a great organization. I haven’t been on a trip with them yet, but some of our church members go to Missouri and work with them to send out their Mailbox Club (I can’t remember what it’s called).

As you know, my heart is with the youth, and to hear your daughter being passionate about reaching the lost is music to my ears…..and heart.

    Trina-
You go girl! Go light your world!!!
    I’ll be praying for you:)
May God bless the road before you.

    Love and Hugs!

  18. You better believe this house will be praying for her! (and those little ones she’s going to love on this summer..) I’m so proud of her! Of course, with a momma that really knows how to love like Jesus, I’m not surprised! 🙂

    Love you girl!
    stephanie

  19. This is wonderful, Darla, but I think you know that already.

I’ll be praying with you and Trina. Sounds like y’all have the makings of an amazing mother/daughter relationship for a lifetime…the Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you….Praise to the Lord!
