When looking in the Mirror, who or what do you see? Through years of abuse I can absolutely hate the mirror. I can quickly obsess over with all that makes me less than perfect, all the while forgetting I don’t live in a perfect world. YES I know who I am in Christ, but what the world has to say is a poison to our minds. Above all the diets, and all the healthy things that are good (in moderation), Jesus was asked what is the greatest command…and HIS reply was …. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength, and Love your neighbor as yourself”. I often come back to this, as it defines me more than the mirror. Am I doing this? Am I okay with who God has me in this very moment? I believe all is in HIS control…and right now I am exactly where HE wants me, and exactly who HE wants me to be, and learning exactly what HE is teaching me, and growing in the things HE wants me to grow in….you get the point. As I learn to Love HIM the way HE has called out as the greatest command, I am learning that other things fall in place. The Bible is full of instruction. Some seem to pick and choose what is priority…but honestly Jesus said Love is the priority.
Until we actually are doing this, the rest will be a struggle…not that we shouldn’t try, but fall on our faces before our Creator in repentance that we don’t love like we should, and we are not satisfied with who HE has created us to be…Instead of asking HIM what we should be working on to be closer to HIM…we are wrong in choosing for ourselves, we are wrong by taking the convictions of the Holy Spirit that is meant for us, and imposing them on someone else, who has not yet been convicted of that…Are you following me?? As HE is faithful to bring us to completion, HE is not shy and HE is not silent. Ask HIM what needs to be worked on you, and wait and listen…HE will tell you, and HE will enable you to overcome in whatever area HE ordains.
Father God, tears of repentance and coming before you in total agreeance with you, that you know what is best for each one of us, and individually you bring us to your self. This is not a group love or group hug, it is personal and detailed by your hand. We can’t love our neighbor as our self, when we don’t love ourselves, we don’t have a clue how to love you with everything that we are…we forget that in ourselves we can do nothing, but you can do anything/everything! Help us not to obsess over anything but you. Stir a hunger in our hearts to be so in love with you. Burn your word on our hearts, touch our lips and make us clean…without you we are nothing, YOU are glorious…we are your creation, and your creation is glorious, remove our pride, break us, mold us. I love you and need you more than air…make our “want to” line up with yours. Your Princess who wants to look in the Mirror and see your Son instead of herself.
