None like YOU, Lord!

Reflections.  My heart has been reflecting on the whole week of Easter.  Sometimes its been rather intense.  Wondering why we tend to forget this week all year until it comes.  This is really the basis for our Christian faith.  There is nothing more beautiful that Jesus taking the punishment for all my sin. And nothing more worthy of rejoicing than when HE overcame death and rose again for me.

We attended the Good Friday service at church last night.  My thoughts continued to gravitate to the throne room, and wondering (not questioning) how could God the Father have a  love so deeply for me, and how hard it must have been to be seperated from God the Son for the first time ever.  Thinking of the beauty and majesty of Heaven and thinking of HE left it to be confined in a human body, and to die the worst death, just to live again so I could come with HIM.  Asking HIM, “why do you love us so much?, why do we forget so easily?”

Father God, you are better than Good.  As our creator you have once again created a way out of the curse for us.  How I pray that our hearts will remain soft to you.  How I pray that we will rejoice in what you have done for us.  Give us hearts that understand this world is temporary, and being home with you is the journey.  You used your own son to build a bridge so that I could  come and dance with you.  You have pursued my heart til it surrendered.  You have poured more love on me than is imaginable.  You guide my steps, and you sing over me when I sleep.  You alone are worthy of all my attention and obedience.  Thank you for the cross, thank you for your son, thank you for providing the sacrfice that frees from the bondage of sin, that allows us to come directly to you.  We do not deserve you, thank you that you do not give us what we deserve.  “there is none like you, no one else can touch my heart like you do, I could search for all eternity long and find there is none like you”…..

Diversity – a City on a Hill

The most precious thing to me about the body of Christ is that we are all so different on the surface, and so the same in our heart where our love for Christ riegns.  As I was surfing the blogs, it was so apparent to me, that while God speaks a word in different ways through different types of people we tend to forget about the ones that are not exactly like us.  (Myself included) We are not being diverse when we do this.  I have a few blogs that I want to call attention to, if you have time would you go and visit these people and leave them a comment.  They are outstanding in the areas that God has placed them.  I truly love these people and they are more like me than one would think.

Kathy at Sumballo – her story telling is always awesome in how it sparks my mind to think a little deeper, Totally love her!

Ric – a poet- man his heart shows through and I am always amazed at the love of God when I walk away.

Indian Lake Papa – I always can stand to hear a few words of wisdom with some humor, if I could pick an earthly father it would be him.

Praise365- He is my hubs, and 100% music man, he always posts videos that speak his heart, and always inspiring to me.  He rocks! (okay baby, give me what you promised!  lol just kidding)

Heidi- I am crazy about Heidi! She is so much in tune with God and really strives to be more like HIM.

Tanya- my new blogging buddy, a home school mom, and really has a neat heart.

Brandy – sometimes I feel like she is my daughter, and she makes me laugh so very hard!

Shonda – I love watching her grow in the Lord right in front of my eyes, she has a word for me!

These people are on my blogroll and I love all my blog roll and hope  you all check them out, and stir up a little diversity in your soul.  God rocks, lets be Diverse City (asToby Mac would say) right here in blogsville!

Use it or lose it!

Matthew 25:1-30 “The Parable of the Talents”

Luke 8:16-18 “The Lamp on a Stand”

Luke 19:11-27 “The Parable of the ten Minas”

At least three accounts in the Bible shows that we are to use what God has given us, and not be selfish, or horde it like it were just ours, or HE will take it.  What would we really have if God did not give it to us?  We can look at it as money, and we can look at it as our testimony, but as you look at the verses remember that Jesus was never talking just to talk.  Often HE said “If you have ears let you hear”.   After looking through many commentaries, it comes up almost the same each time.  God gives us gifts, HE provides for our needs, and increases our faith as we are open to HIM and obedient.  The verses that apply to the ones who do not use what was given to them, is horrifying to me.  I don’t ever want to be that one that hid his “talent”, and had no growth.  I don’t ever want to be the one who had a light and hid it so that only himself would have light.

While walking this out with God today, HE reminded me that it is not salvation lost, it is more of a bottom line as to who do you love? Who will you be obedient to?  If we truly love HIM it will be the only thing we will have to do–give it to someone else.  Whether that be sharing whatever you have, or shining for the King when you are not sure how that will be recieved.  Nothing is ever lost when using it for HIM, HE replenishes everything.  As we show our faith, HE increases it.  As we give to the needy, HE replaces it, As we shine in our corner of the world, our light gets brighter.   The alternative is to lose what we already have even if we think we have nothing already, it can surely get worse.

Today this was on my heart.  Thursday night I am going with Hubs band to the Homeless Shelter (they are there every third thursday).  I have been there a bunch of times but not so much lately.  I always get there and these homeless people bless my heart.  They sing praises that are incredible, and they have nothing, yet they are richer than most in thier view of God.  You would think that would be the place where they would curse God, but not so.  A member of the band has been working out the details, and this week they will give the believing Homeless people communion.  I just know that God is going to be lifting the roof, and I am going to be there letting my light shine.  I don’t want to lose what God has given me so I have to give it to someone else!

Matthew 16:25 “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for me will find it.”

Write it, Run with it, wait on HIM

Joshua 24: 25,26,27            25So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. 26And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God; and he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the LORD. 27Joshua said to all the people, “Behold, this stone shall be for a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the LORD which He spoke to us; thus it shall be for a witness against you, so that you do not deny your God.”

Isaiah 30:8

8    Now go, write it on a tablet before them

And inscribe it on a scroll,

That it may serve in the time to come

    As a witness forever.

Habakkuk 2:2,3

2    Then the LORD answered me and said,

    “Record the vision

    And inscribe it on tablets,

That the one who reads it may run.

3    “For the vision is yet for the appointed time;

It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail.

    Though it tarries, wait for it;

For it will certainly come, it will not delay

The Lord’s instructions are clear, as HE gives us a word we are to write it down,  make it known, and reference it as it is a witness either for us or against us.  Really depends on us, our actions, and our desires.  The Habakkuk text always jumps at me, as HE demonstrates that God does speak to the individual, we are to write it down, and run with it.  Although we may not even understand at the time what HE is telling us, it comes when the time is right.  Whether that is through studying God’s word, hearing your pastor speak, or maybe even from a total strange who will say something that will fit exactly to what God has spoke to our hearts.  HE also says to wait for it, and know it will surely come.

The first time in the Bible that it mentions someone who joined the holy family of Abraham is in Exodus 18  Jethro the father in law of Moses, a priest of many gods, high in clout in his community…heard how God had done many wonderful things, and delivered HIS people.  Jethro joined Moses family and offered sacrifices to God, and became part of Isreal.  Testimony of the Lord still is most powerful today!  We need to write it down, we need to make sure that HE is getting all the glory, and always wait for HIM to open doors.  HE will, HE knows who will benefit from our experience with HIM, and HE loves all the boasting about HIM self.  We might never know on this earth who is touched, who will cry out in the dark to know or experience HIM like our accounts read.  But I know that HE is never pointless.  HE does not give us busy work to keep us out of the way.  In my opinion, the waiting is not siting doing nothing, but waiting for HIS plan to open up in front of us, not our plan opening up in front of HIM.

Has God done great things in your sight?  Have you written it down? Will you give it to someone else if the Lord asks you to do it?  This is not about spreading the gospel, although we all should be doing that…its about being a tree that demonstrates HIS glory, and someone else can stand back and not see you, but say “Oh my! His/Her God is truly the one and only God, Look at the great things HE has done!”
