When the Son sets you FREE, YOU ARE FREE!

John 8:36 (NKJV)   “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

John 8:36 (TMSG)  “So if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through.”

John 8:36 (CEV)     “If the Son gives you freedom, then you are free!”

You get the idea! It doesn’t matter what translation you look in the thought and concept is the same. I recommend that you choose a translation that works for your understanding, and always compare to others.  I do love my NASB best, but my NIV is my familiar baby, love it!

When I write about struggles, it does not always mean that I am in the pit.  That is a lie the enemy would like me to believe and would also love for you to believe that when struggles raise thier ugly head, and our weaknesses seem to be too strong for us….. Who the Son sets free is free indeed!!, through and through!, You are free!  The enemy is a liar!  God calls him the “Father of lies”  John 8:44

Wonder what is at stake in the heavenlies, when the enemy turns up the heat so much we start to believe the lie, that we have not been set free…some will say..”crisis of unbelief”…some will say…”she never was free”…and sadly we start to listen to what man has to say, we start to hang our heads, we cry out “why are we not getting this?”  NO we are not!  Two Fathers are named here…we have our  Father God, 100% truth, and the father of lies, 100% deception….”Who’s your Daddy?”  The enemy is lying, we are free, not in our strength, but in the power ofJesus, who God the Father gave all authority in heaven and earth.  I am walking in the light of freedom, and I am reaching my hand out to you…come walk, run, and play in the Sonshine, “for cryin out loud…” shoulders back and head up!  Your Daddy set you free, and no one can make you walk back into the darkness and no one can hold you accept HIM, and HE isn’t letting go!

BTW-when you walk out of that dark place..slam the door! and make sure he hears you..”Get out of my house! in Jesus name”   he will run, he will come back, but we just do it again..We are FREE!

Inspite of Me

So often we get in our way! That is honest truth!  So many will not step out in faith due to the fact that God has not perfected us yet.  HELLO! HE hasn’t perfected any of us yet, unless you are no longer among the breathing on earth.  Sorry thats the hard facts.

Today while leading my Bible Study group, a women stepped up and decided to take a leap of faith and lead a different group with more study.  That’s what I do.  I start Bible Study groups and disciple them to go and start more.  Sometimes that doesn’t go so well, just because we are all human and really want to stay in our Bubble bible study.  Recently the Lord has pushed me off my seat and out of my comfort zone by leading me to teach/lead in the church setting.  Honestly it has scared me to death at times.  God knows that due to some scheduling of wedding preparations, I could no longer lead the retreat group, and altough I have the study ready for someone to take over, I know with all my heart that the material is what HE wants.  This woman has agreed to take the material and lead it.  Inspite of me, God encourages and teaches others.  When the study is over for the week, incredible humility overwhelms me.  In my heart, I just heard HIM say, I am in control, and you do need to do something else, and I am stepping someone else up to lead a group with my Word.

My comfort zone is with the lost, and taking women one on one, and showing them Jesus.  For most that would be the uncomfort zone.  But in my head, I have more in common with those types of women.  The Church with all the politics that go with it…not me thanks…I hate those things.  So that is exactly where the Lord put me.  There is not a week that goes by that I feel competent in what I do. There is not a week that goes by that I do not grovel at HIS feet.  There is not a week that goes by that HE does not remind me that we are all the same meeting at the foot of the cross, recieving Grace.  Inspite of me, God does not fail me, God’s word will go out and not return void, and hearts are changing (including mine).  I am growing to love these women and I don’t know why God has placed me here, but I am sure HE does it all inspite of me.

Take off your mask!

First of all I am very frightened of clowns…I really need to see their faces!  Do you realize that the “perfect Christian” look is not bringing anyone closer to HIM, but has the opposite affect?  I am a sinner, and I know my need for a savior everyday.  But HE has been showing me that although people appear to be all together and like they have achieved the blameless walk, we all have sin.  It breaks my heart that being honest in the body is least likely to be first and foremost.  What would the outcome be if instead of answering the question “how are you?” that we answered in honesty; “this is a hard week”, “I am struggling with sin in my life”, “I need prayer”.  Instead of the usual “okay”.    I am not sure, but we may end up in a serious heartfelt prayer session where we lift up issues that we are all plagued with, and accountability partners that actually keep us accountable.

If I were an outside looking in, I would run from the truth and believe that I had to clean up my act on my own before coming to God.  That is so far from the truth, and what it is all about!  I love my Jesus because while I was still a sinner, HE died for me.  I still hadn’t known HIM, or even slightly believed in HIM, and HIS love was demonstrated for me.  Somehow, I believe that if we were to take off all the masks, we would find that we are more approachable to the lost, and HE would heal those things that we are hiding behind the masks.  God is good, and what HE heals in one person in an instant, may take years for another, But HE alone knows the plans HE has for us.  I wonder is HE cracking up looking at us wearing masks, HE sees right through, and is probably saying something like…”wha wha wha what!”  ?

Every Thought Captive

Romans 12:2   Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

2 Corinthians 10: 3-5    For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.  The weapons we fight with are not weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  We demolish arguments and every pretense that sets itself up against the knowlege of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

I don’t know what the enemy uses to trip you up, but I am sure it starts in the mind, a thought whether fleeting or intense.  I don’t know what the world has to offer that makes your head spin around and take the second look, but I am sure it has an enticing affect.   When looking hard at my own day to day life, and praying about areas that I am still in defeat, or at least tripped up…it all starts in the thought pattern or mind.  We have access to resurrection power, and we are choosing to believe the enemy or let our worldly desires hold us down.  The Word of God is powerful, so powerful that HE spoke the world into existence.  With words Jesus called Lazarus out of the tomb and back to life.  The very word of God, alive and transforming.  After studying and teaching on this a few times, I am convinced while watching some struggle that it is not fair to call them on their belief or lack of, as much as they need to learn to put up the truth of God against whatever is holding them.

Today was a hard day.  I was reminded to take every thought captive. This is something I have been working at for the last 10 years, and some days are easier than others.  But HIS word is divine, and nothing or no one can stand up to it.

The Word of God is our shield of faith.  We really need to pick the thing up, and allow it to cover us, and protect us.  Whatever the thought, look it up in the Bible and see what God says about it before acting on it.  If this is something that plagues you, write the verse out on an index card and carry the thing with you.  The verses at the top have been written out several times for me.  I am thinking I need a set of them in my bus.  I am that human that I need reminders.  Striving for obedience to Christ and that means taking my thoughts captive.

Father God you have provided everything we need to walk in the abundant life with you.  Please help us to see in each thought what it is that is down playing you.  Help us find the scripture that gives us divine power to overcome, and allow us to dance, instead of fall.  We don’t want to be duped, we don’t need fancy words from someone else, we just need you.  Thank you for being our King, for loving us enough to pave the way.  We want to commit to walking on the road that you laid out for us.  The battle does start in the mind, and if we entertain it, it will soon become a reality.  Give us passion and hunger for your Word, engrave it on our hearts, store it in our minds.  We are your children, the apple of your eye.  Might everything we say and do and think glorify you.  You want us to love you with all our hearts, soul, mind and strength.  Enable us to do that.  Desperate for you and to press on in your shadow!

God is Real, HE does exist! I know

I know lots of readers here know that Jesus lives, and that having a personal relationship is awesome, and something real.  But all my readers don’t know that.  This post is mostly for them.  And a huge reminder to the rest of us.  Not only is HE alive, but we should be overflowing with that knowledge.  Its not a story that makes us feel better about things or a simple way to cope.  But it is incredible!!!  I have been speaking to him all day, and I know just like the video…I know that I know that I know that I know!   Believers, let’s commit to not losing the whole conviction of Easter as it is over on the calendar now…and pray for a fire that will light up our areas, and compassion for the hurting.  Pray to see the ones around you while you shop or drive down the street through the eyes of Jesus.  I recently had a reality check, when reading someones blog and the sadness of his heart pierced me, and one little thing he said broke my heart…”If God even exists…”  Believers we need to pray hard, and we need to let every one we come in contact with that HE is real, exists, and has so much love for a hurting world.
