Today one of my favorite riders on my high school run was happy! This is huge, she is so misunderstood by most. The front half of her hair is bright pink, and the rest is brown, although she is a natural blonde. Very tough girl, but when she speaks you can hear her young tender heart crying out. She left me know a while back that her mother has a PFA against her, for trying to kill her dad in the car with this young thing and her sister in the car. She said ” I hate my mom”, and then proceeded to tell me why. She told me she would love me to be her mom. I told her I would take her in a minute! Since then we have a good rep going. I coached her for her driving test, and she now has a license. But today was finals, and she was so happy, she told me she got an A and she was happy with herself (not that anyone else would care). “I care,, good job”. She proceeded to put on her ipod, and started to sing ( mind you no one on this bus will mess with her) she was singing Family Force 5-put a little love in it. I just smiled to myself, God is going to grab that girl, I just know it!
Ian told me today that he knows why I am nice, and why I am his favorite bus driver( his only bus driver)…its because he is special and I know it. LOL I wish you could see his serious little man face. God is good, and HE is answering prayers going up for these kids. I am in awe of what HE does, and how HE stoops down to pick up the unloved, and the lost. Just thought I would give you all an update! Thanks for the prayers, back to studying for me…but I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Love my faith family!!
I love to read about the testimonies from your bus ministry (aka job)! You are making a big difference in these lives!
Blessings in Christ–
Love hearing about bus stories. God is so all over that! Love ya princess.

Darla,
You are approachable and these kids know it!! They are our future. I just love the girl you have taken under your wing. What a blessing you are to her. And that Ian, what a character and I can picture the face when he says it:) I love the bus updates so much, good food for my child loving soul. This is why I pray for that big yellow bus. You are helping the Lord make such a difference, one child at a time.
Love you gobs Darla,
Laurie
20 some years ago, yes I’m over 40. Someone told me that my purple hair would come in style. Then this same person said I would “grow out of” the Rocky Horror picture show. I attended 110 times as a teen and smoked those famous clove cigarettes. I told you I was old. Anyways, that same woman dyed my hair back and took me to a regular movie. I think it was Tootsie. Anyways, later onthat night she shared Christ with me. I had parents and I had the “stuff” in life, but she knew I was missing the eternity in my life. Oh how I thank her today.
Keep the rep going.
That’s so funny, I was singing the same song today 🙂 I have a really, really good friend at college who loves it and it just pops into my head once in awhile.
God is definitely using you!
I saw all the buses dropping the kids off from school today and I thought of you actually.
It made me think twice about ‘judging a book by it’s cover”
Adam-you crack me up! I had this mental pic of you getting your groove on to that song..it does have that effect on me too…back out of know where, but still speaking truth to me.
Heidi- girl I was the same king of teen..Rocky Horror all the way, new all the songs and all the dances..just look at what God can do in a heart! I would have loved your purple hair!
Laurie-hows the new blog coming along…don’t forget to let me in!
Angela-love ya princess!
Shonda-I really have to get over to your blog, today when I get a break I will drop in!
Have a good day y’all! hold up wait a minute put a little love in it! 🙂
You know what? I bet when you get to Heaven, you have people come up to you and say, “Hey, do you remember the girl with pink hair that rode your bus? That’s me!” I just know that you are making an eternal impact on these children.
And I STILL pray for you everytime I see the neighborhood kids walking to the bus stop. 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend!

You are their Earth Angel! This is such a mighty powerful assignment from the Lord girl! I know you know it is God who called YOU to be their driver. He’s had His eyes set on them for all eternity and His spirit has been whispering to them their whole lives…”Just hold on child – I’m coming – I will touch you and you will see me” and then He sends you to drive their bus! God works through us and touches His children through us. What an honor Darla!!! How incredibly beautiful all this is to me!
Steph, Leah, Faith, Tam- God is awesome on that bus! When ever I think about the impact HE is having on these kids, through something little I say or my smile, and through the prayers sent up for them, I am so completely humbled that HE would use me. Me with all my flaws, and all the growing I have to do in HIM still. Wish you all could see HIM drive the bus in the snow! The last snow none of the Christian drivers had any problems, but alot of others landed in ditches, and overall had a very rough time. HE is so in this-talk about a blessing!
