Lamentations 3:23-26 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.” The Lord is good to those whose Hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
This is one of my many favorites. I love that we exist because of His great love, in all our shortcomings, and failures, and just plain defiance. His love always makes me stop and think rationally. My humanness wants to rant, and just pay back evil for evil, and His love quiets my heart and reminds me that His way is the best, and just wait for Him to right the wrongs. I know first hand that HE does do that. When looking at my own heart, there is no doubt that I also have much growing to do in the Lord. Great is His faithfulness to bring the work HE started in me to completion and make me a mirror image of His Son. HE is my portion-I have all that I need in Him, and after pondering HIS heart, how could I even want more?
The Lord is good to those who hope in Him. This is truth that motivates me throughout my day, If Jesus is not real in your day, it is very simple to see it happen in your life…just ask! Honestly we make it way too hard, and we try to understand so much that is not possible in this human brain. Ask! HE says we have not because we ask not…wonder what it is we are asking for…is it to know HIM more and love HIM more? Is to know that HE is there with all our hearts? I can honestly promise you that if you ask, HE will move heaven and earth to show you. I love how Max Lucado said ” If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it”. If you have accepted Christ as your savior, HE has written you on HIS hand! Try to make a mental picture of that. You are nobility in the family of the KING, and you are a delight to Him, In Eph. 1:3-6, HE tells us of what we are blessed in, and what you mean to HIM. It gave God great pleasure to adopt you into His family. For me that touches my heart! HE could have anything and HE wants us! No hidden agenda, no darkness at all…just pure desire to bring you and place you into His family with all that goes with it! God is good and faithful, and if you are in doubt about Him, then ask Him? No need for a fancy prayer, just speak it to Him…then get ready…the Creator of all things, the King of Kings, will answer you personally.
Hi Darla,
This is such a sweet post and I needed to hear these things as a reminder of His love for me. We sure can’t chose what family we are born into down here,
but to be able to turn it around by God adopting us, well that gives me goose-bumps. It really hit me deeper to realize when someone is adopted, someone chose them. No genetic looks to compare to other family members, just a little mystery person who will unfold with the characteristics and beliefs and love of the adoptive parent. We are all works in progress with lots to learn, but we sure have an excellent Father to teach us with no regrets. I hope my name is “Tatooed” on His hand so I can be sure I never get washed off. Love you Darla, and praying you have the most wonderful and joy filled week on the bus. Bless those kids extra for me too. They are in my prayers along with you, one driver, one bus filled with kids, heavenly packaged deal!!:)
Love you, Laurie in Ca.
What a beautiful and encouraging post! Thank you for this.
LL- i doubt that God ever has to wash HIS hands, and lose the writting on it. LOL you really got a big smile on that one! But just incase…I prayed that ours will be in sharpie!! I am sure that it will never leave…maybe engraved would have been a better expression. Love you Girl!

This is one of my favorite passages! This was such an encouraging post today!!
It was so good to have you comment on my blog! I’m praying for you during this busy season of life! I think of you each morning when I see the school bus riders walking to the front of the neighborhood to catch the bus.

What a great reminder that He wants us!
Blessings in Christ–
tagged you again!
“No need for a fancy prayer, just speak it to Him” This is right on! Just acknowledge him. My man and i were talking the other day that the bible simply says to confess that He is Lord… Simple as that!
Love you girl!
